Welcome to Buhay Ko Bayan Ko!

‘Buhay Ko Bayan Ko’ is a Tagalog phrase for ‘my life, my country”, often expressed out of deep-rooted affection for one’s people and country.  This affinity holds true for many Filipinos living outside the Philippines. The Philippines is a country of more than 7’000 islands with a population of 104 million; 33% are under 14 years, overall 52% under 24 years old.  Although rich in natural resources, the country has remained poor, primarily due to corruption in the government, insurgencies, a high number of drug addiction cases, criminalities – all these left unchecked for decades, tearing apart the very social fabric of the society, the family! The Filipinos are very family oriented.  The aspiration, to see a better Philippines for their children and to contribute positively to the country’s sustainable development, is an integral part of their being.
